Exodus 3:12

Hiskidz and Deep Blue:

Our Sunday School lesson this week is about Moses and the Israelites. This week will learn about what happened after Moses and the Israelites were free from the Egyptian rule. There was more grumbling and complaining, instead of celebrating and thankfulness. How often do we find ourselves in this same situation?

Last week in our Sunday night Bible study, we began a new series called Filters. Our first session was about our attitude. We talked about how what we hold on the inside is what will come out of us when we are shaken or jostled. If we see the negative in things, then we will release a negative attitude. This week’s lesson will focus on Friends. We need to be very careful who we choose to be our friends. Our friends bring influence into our lives, good and bad. We need to look to God to help us filter how we choose our friends.

Solid Ground Youth

Last Sunday we began a new series called The Promised Land.” This Sunday our lesson is about Joshua’s farewell address to the Israelite people. He encourages them to look at their past to see where God has brought them. He reminds them to stay strong in the Lord and to trust Him.

Sunday Night Youth

A couple of weeks ago, we began a new series by Francis Chan entitled “Surrender. Our last lesson in the series was Surrender Status. We talked about the importance of not being so worried about our status, but instead we need to surrender to God and allow Him to use us for His will. This week we will cover session 3, Surrender Sin. Sin is everywhere, and we have to make choices every day. It is impossible to live a sin-free life, but we must strive to make the choices that are pleasing to God, not man.

Wednesday Night Small Group

Side note about next Wednesday . . . The Yazoo Fair will be in town, and next Wednesday (10/16) our Youth Group will meet up at the Fair for a night of Fun and Fellowship.

Beginning Wednesday night (10/23) in small group, we will start a new series called Forever Changed. In this series we will be talking about the life of Saul/Paul. We will see how God can truly transform lives. We just need to be willing to completely surrender to Him. God wants what is best for us, but we must be willing to trust Him.
